Nestled within the embrace of the Cyclades archipelago, Kea, also known as Tzia, offers a captivating beauty with colorful, winding streets and untouched beaches, inspiring unique artistry.
For me, translating the essence of this place into art is deeply personal. From my studio in the heart of Ioulis, Kea’s main square, I create handcrafted treasures, driven by a desire to share the magic of Kea through unique designs.
The Aegean Sea surrounding Kea presents a breathtaking spectrum of blues and greens. The "crystal clear waters" found at locations like Gialiskari further enhance the vibrancy of these colors, allowing the true hues of the sea to shine through.
Kea’s coastline also boasts beaches with a complementary palette of golden and pearly tones. From the "golden sand and fine pebbles" of Xyla beach to the "beautiful sandy beach" of Spathi and the "fine sand" of Koundouros, the island offers diverse coastal textures and colors, with even Sykamia featuring "golden sand".
The pebbles found on Kea’s beaches are more than just stones; they are individual works of art sculpted by the relentless action of the sea. Transforming a raw, natural pebble into wearable art requires a keen eye for detail and a deep respect for its inherent beauty.
I approach each piece with the intention of capturing the very spirit and diverse colors of Kea. The symbolism inherent in these colors further enriches the story of the jewelry.
